Total Revenue

I want to get this out of the way first, I won't be covering DLC as its very difficult to track. As far as I know there is no way to track those figures so we'll be sticking to game units sold. Total game unit revenue is harder to pinpoint as Arma 3 has had a metric ton of discounted sales whereas DayZ has been on sale two times for a discounted 15% off (if my memory serves correct). Arma 3 average discounted sales figures are usually 50% off. If you've seen the current $15.00 Humble Bundle deal, you will see that at of the time of this article they've sold 65,045 units. So we have to take those figures into consideration.

Is this their (Arma 3) first sale with Humble Bundle? This is the first time I've seen them on Humble Bundle with Arma 3. That doesn't mean much as I've only been paying attention to Humble Bundle deals for approximately one year, maybe one year and six months.

For a game (DayZ) that still hasn't reached 1.0, the figures are staggering compared to their flagship IP for Bohemia Interactive.

Those of you worried DayZ will never be finished, do you really think Bohemia Interactive won't be finishing their biggest selling IP...EVER?

Let's think about money. Boats load of money. We haven't added multipliers for Beta and 1.0, nor have we considered both consoles.

By the time DayZ hits PC 1.0 my guess is PC sales will hit 5M-10M. There is an entire demographic that is waiting for DayZ (mostly DayZ Mod players) to be feature complete. So don't forget to factor those folks into the mix.

Console Port

Console Early Access on XB1, which will coincide with the XBOX Scorpion, we'll see at least another 5M. The timing is perfect and considering DayZ is a CPU intensive game, the XBOX Scorpion will suite DayZ as the better of both consoles based on current requirements.

Add PlayStation 4 in least another 5 million. My estimate for console sales will be 15M-25M by console port 1.0. Add the 5M-10M baseline sales from PC and our total is somewhere around 25M-35M. That's beyond impressive for a game where the creator allegedly took the money and ran.

Considering a successful AAA game (successful enough to warrant a part two) is about 10M-15M in sales (see Star Wars: Battlefart), DayZ should easily eclipse that.
