Where's my character ? :P

I logged out near Vygor trader and when i looged in after 2 hours i got a new character.
I presume i am dead but how can this happen?
My char name was Aris

Look in the guide section of the forums, for a post named "avoid getting wiped" basically if you login at 800, or 920 server time, the server is not connected to the hive, and a fresh spawn is created. The post was over a year ago, so I do not know if this is still valid or not.

its not what you want to hear, but the the almighty Alpha God of DayZ has accepted your sacrifice, and is looking forward to your next culling.
Sorry, but there is nothing we can do. However when there is a large record of persistence issues we will roll back the server.
