In the early days of the outbreak, people banded together to form colonies.

As time passed, bandits fought amongst themselves and many colonies faded into obscurity. The only real way to survive was for all colonies to unite under one umbrella. If there was ever a chance to truly rebuild, living under a united front was the only way.

Alliances were formed and peace treaties were signed. Once everyone is living under one colony; The Colony, roles within the community were made available.

These roles were tailored to who you were in your previous life. Lawmen stayed law men, physicians stayed physicians, hunters stayed hunters, so on and so forth.

Colony Constitution

Amendment I: Religion, Speech, Press, Assembly, Petition
The Counsel shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Amendment II: Right to Bear Arms
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

Amendment III: Search and Seizure
  • Issuance by The Overseer
In numerous cases, The Counsel has referred to the necessity that warrants be issued by "The Overseer.” The point of the Third Amendment, which often is not grasped by zealous officers, is not that it denies law enforcement the support of the usual inferences which reasonable men draw from evidence. Its protection consists in requiring that those inferences be drawn by a neutral and detached Overseer instead of being judged by the officer engaged in the often competitive enterprise of ferreting out crime.
  • Probable Cause
An applicant for a warrant must present to The Overseer facts sufficient to enable the officer himself to make a determination of probable cause. “In determining what is probable cause . . . [w]e are concerned only with the question whether the affiant had reasonable grounds at the time of his affidavit . . . for the belief that the law was being violated on the premises to be searched; and if the apparent facts set out in the affidavit are such that a reasonably discreet and prudent man would be led to believe that there was a commission of the offense charged, there is probable cause justifying the issuance of a warrant.
  • Property Subject to Seizure
Search warrants can be issued for the seizure of contraband by The Overseer only.
  • Execution of Warrants
It is a rule at common law that before an officer can break and enter he must give notice of his office, authority, and purpose.
Amendment IV: Criminal Prosecutions
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by The Counsel, which have been ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him/her; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his/her favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his/her defense.
